1. At thedoghouse, we respect the privacy of your personal information and this commitment is demonstrated in our Privacy Policy. We want to assure you that we will always handle your personal information securely and carefully. We will comply with all applicable privacy laws of England and Wales and ensure conformity with the requirements of The Data Protection Act 1998, and make our staff aware of their obligations.
2. This Privacy Policy applies to the thedoghouse website and to all dealings between Users and thedoghouse. It outlines how your personal information is used, protected and recorded. By becoming a member of the thedoghouse Reminder Service and/or using the thedoghouse Website, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
3. Under no circumstances will information be sold or made available to marketing agencies or similar parties not directly involved with thedoghouse Reminder Service.. In accordance with the Privacy & Electronic Communications Act passed into law 11 Dec 2003, we do not send random marketing emails to personal email addresses (spam).
Users' Rights
1. Thedoghouse, as manager of the thedoghouse Reminder Service, respects and upholds the rights of Users to privacy protection. The provisions of this Privacy Policy are evidence of thedoghouse's commitment to that protection. This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information held in the thedoghouse Database. Words and phrases defined in the thedoghouse Membership Terms and Conditions have the same meaning when used in this Privacy Policy.

  - name, address & telephone number(s);
  - e-mail address;
  - date of birth (security purposes);
  - occupation;
  - where applicable, credit card details and other associated information;
  - transaction details associated with the thedoghouse Reminder Service; and Interest types.
4. If you are a Doghouse User or simply inquiring about our online services, we may use your e-mail address to advise you of any upgrades or changes to these services (if applicable).
5. Thedoghouse may also use your e-mail address to send you various thedoghouse Reminder Service and marketing communications from time to time. thedoghouse will give Users the option of not receiving further communications of this nature and it is our policy to only email customers who give us permission to do so.
Use of Information
1. Personal User information including your e-mail address will be used for the purposes of ensuring the proper functioning of the thedoghouse Reminder Service, and subject to the restrictions set out in paragraph 4(iii), for the marketing, planning, product development and research requirements of thedoghouse and its Partners.
2. Your e-mail address will be included on the thedoghouse Database and, like other personal information held on the thedoghouse Database, will be subject to the thedoghouse Membership Terms and Conditions (including the thedoghouse Privacy Policy).
3. Thedoghouse will not use or disclose or permit the use or disclosure of personal User information that could be used to identify an individual User in any circumstances except:
  - to ensure the proper functioning of the thedoghouse Reminder Service in relation to the User in question (for example, to confirm membership and acceptance of the Membership Terms and Conditions, to notify the User of any relevant dates or events nominated by the User, to seek the User's views on the operation of the thedoghouse Reminder Service in order to improve User service, to ensure the integrity of transactions between Users and Partners and to communicate promotional offers and special events);
  - where the personal User information is to be used by thedoghouse on behalf of a Partner for marketing, planning, product development and research and where:
    - the personal User information does not include the name of the User; and
    - the Partner is bound by a confidentiality agreement with thedoghouse under which the personal User information may not be used for mailing purposes or in any other way to make contact with the User;
  - when thedoghouse is required by law to disclose the personal User information in which case only information that is required to be disclosed will be disclosed; or
    when the User specifically consents to the use or disclosure of their personal information.
4. Thedoghouse undertakes to give proper and responsible consideration to privacy issues associated with the introduction of new marketing devices or technology.
5. On termination of membership, the User's contact details will be noted as closed, and after 12 months of non-usage User's contact details will be deleted from the thedoghouse Database. Thedoghouse will ensure that all User information is destroyed thereafter in a safe and secure manner.
Users Right to Opt Out
1. From time to time, promotional offers and special events will be communicated to Users. Users have the right to opt out of these additional communications and can do so by requesting this in writing to thedoghouse at (email: unsubscribe@thedoghouse.co.uk or mail to thedoghouse.co.uk Ltd, 41 Whitcomb Street, London UK, WC2H 7DT).
Security Safeguards
1. Thedoghouse undertakes to take reasonable steps necessary to ensure that User information is secure from any unauthorised access or disclosure.

Thedoghouse assumes no responsibility for the information practices of either Partners or other third-party websites where a User is able to access their information through thedoghouse Website, and encourages Users to review each website's privacy policy before disclosing any personally identifiable information.

Once thedoghouse have received your email, thedoghouse will remove your personal details from thedoghouse Database as soon as reasonably practicable thereafter.
